Ahhh my undying love for J Dilla. 7/2/1974-10/2/2006
First off let me say R.I.P to the most influential music record producer. Born James Dewitt Yancey better known as J Dilla emerged from the mid-1990s (when I was in pampers..LOL) on the underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan. Most notably for the production of critically acclaimed albums by Common, Busta Rhymes, Erykah Badu and many other artists. Nowadays a lot of big named hip hop artists uses his samples. I always know when it is a J Dilla sample he has a way with beats. I wonder what hip hop would be like if he was still around?? He was and STILL is a LEGEND!! I can't give you a favourite track of mine because I'll be here all day but a memorable one for me would be 'Timeless' . I chose to send you the link for the instrumental instead of the track because I wanted you all to hear how talented this man is. This is real music, the consistency from J Dilla with his choice of beats to make is crazy!! Also Dilla' fans would know that a memorial of his music is held every year around February times, the dates vary around that month at Scala, Kings Cross, London. J Dilla's legacy will live on, my unborn child that has not yet been conceived will know about him! You need to click on the link to hear what I am rambling on about!!
Got my J Dilla t shirt 2 years ago at the event held at Scala! Still wearing it, pic taken in NYC summer 11'.. Also you see that Maverick *Mitchell and Ness Snapback I went through hell and back to get that exact one! #Stress! I'm also wearing one of my special boots designed by Jeffrey Campbell.
